Man, I must say WE exist (meaning human beings) to cause trouble; we just can't see effort in other peoples work. As we hate to be criticized we criticize other people, as much of a paradox as that is. But calling sprite art unoriginal is right and wrong at the same time. First it is right as long as we consider we didn't "create" it but, on the other hand, animators make them move or speak things in ways those who made them may have not even remotely thought of. Also other animations may use ideas that are not exactly new; but as long as they are made with effort (maybe passion as well) and not just lazily making them without even liking it themselves (to a certain degree), they can be considered to be good.
